Get your foot in the door though hospitality and you’ll know the love of neighbor that God wants for us.
Hospitality KUMC Style
We are having Coffee and a snack after 9:30 am worship.
Jesus calls us to bring a cup of water to the thirsty and bread to the hungry. Though we hunger and thirst for God, a table of food has always added to our ministry with others. It lengthens the time we have for conversation and faith building.
Every Sunday worship participants can talk with church leaders and spiritual friends in the overflow area to the right of our worship space. Church members sign up for this weekly ministry at the sign up table and are taught specifics on how to make coffee in advance.
We take meals to struggling friends and members often. This ministry is organized at the sign up table in the fellowship area.
Occasionally we’ll have a church project or meeting after worship and fellowship. If it is labor intensive, we’ll share a meal together. Hospitality Committee will organize what we need and we volunteer on a sign up sheet.
The biggest Hospitality event in the life of the Kaneville Church is the Beef Supper held in October. The Church family and the Kaneville Community participate in serving and donating to this event. We start preparing in August with the sweet corn husking and freezing. All early fall we are organizing food, volunteers and crafts. On the Saturday of the supper, we are cooking delicious roast beef, cutting homemade pies and receiving guests in our drive-thru pick up. Whether you’re a volunteer or a guest, our hospitality is primary to our ministry.
